CSI SOUTH CENTRAL REGION CONFERENCE
remember the past...build the future
March 31 - April 3, 2011
Hyatt Regency Tulsa

Welcome to Tulsa, a new kind of energy……
This year’s CSI SOUTH CENTRAL REGION CONFERENCE:  “remember the past…build the future” conveys a new kind of energy - from informative lectures on the current state of our energy future, to alternative energy sources, to economic and social implications to current and future energy trends.  This conference seeks to provide the leaders of the construction industry with the knowledge and the tools needed to survive and thrive in the new world they will design, construct and live within.  More importantly, we’ll be searching for a renewal of spirit, a rebirth of creativity, innovation, collaboration and adventure that have provided us with great memories and great learning experiences – the SCRC:  “remember the past…build the future” looks to instill these qualities which will be of great need in the future of construction professionals.
With over 12 hours of continuing education sessions, such as  “The Implications of Peak Oil for Green Buildings and Other Conservation Trends,” the “Economy and the Environment,” “Implementing Truly Sustainable Design,” “Wind Energy,” “Xeriscaping,” “Commercial Recycling” and more, the SCRC:  “remember the past…build the future” has something for everyone.  But education doesn’t end in the classroom, continue your learning experience with industry experts on emerging construction products, services and systems at our Welcome Reception and Products Show on Thursday, March 31, 2011 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and at the Continental Breakfast on Friday, April 1, 2011, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
While we seek a new kind of energy for the future, we must not forget the energies expended and the accomplishments of the past.  The Tulsa Chapter of CSI and the South Central Region of CSI would like to invite you to join us in celebrating fifty years of creativity, innovation, collaboration, and adventures, of both organizations at the Fool’s Ball on Friday, April 1, 2011.  Dress like a fool, act like a fool, dance like a fool, and celebrate the successes of the past and successes to come in the future.
Possessing a new kind of energy isn’t enough, you have to release and share this new energy and that requires leadership.  Don’t consider yourself a leader?  We beg to differ; the fact that you are attending this conference makes you a leader.  Join us Saturday for leadership development and training discussing the essential traits and skills necessary to be an effective leader as well as how to share your new found energy with others.
Need more inspiration?  Really? Okay, how about “Breakfast with Frank” (Lloyd Wright, that is).  Join us Sunday morning for breakfast at The Price Tower Art Center in historic Bartlesville, Oklahoma; site of Frank Lloyd Wright’s only constructed high-rise building.  Enjoy a tour of The Price Tower, admission to the Art Center at Price Tower (for the Bruce Goff Exhibit), and time with old and new friends.  What better way to end a conference focusing on natural resources and a new kind of energy than by renewing your own source of energy by experiencing, in Wright’s own words, “the tree that escaped the forest”.
These are but a few opportunities available at the CSI SOUTH CENTRAL REGION CONFERENCE:  “remember the past…build the future.”
